Hope’s surrogacy journeys

We’re celebrating Hope who delivered on Saturday. Through her experience as a surrogate, Hope deepened her friendships and connections with the families she’s helped as well as fellow carriers who provide connection and advice during Forward Fertility’s surro support meetups. Here’s what Hope wrote before her delivery day.

Hope’s surrogacy journeys

My hope when I first began the surrogacy process was to help a couple create or add to their family. Throughout the last 4 ½ years, I have gained so much more! I have been lucky enough to have helped not one, but two families with the gift of a child, as I am getting close to delivery for my second surrogacy journey.

During these two journeys, my family has created new friendships with both families we have worked with. We are so thankful that our children have been included and felt a part of each journey as well.

Christie Olsen was so wonderful to work with, and made the process such an amazing one, that my family and I decided we should help a second family. Christie hosts surrogacy meetups which have created a support and friendship with other fellow surrogates. I have a wonderful support system of family and friends, but to be able to connect with other surrogates once or twice a month has been so valuable as we all understand what each other is going through.

When I first began this process, I did not quite know what to expect, but I am so glad that my family and I made the decision to help another family – actually two – in this way. My hope has come true in so many ways!
