Why Remote Monitoring?

With over 400 IVF (in vitro fertilization) clinics in the US, and Wisconsin being one of 34 states where insurance coverage for fertility treatment does not exist, many people choose to go out of state for their IVF egg retrievals and FET (frozen embryo transfer) procedures. They may go out of state for lower cost treatment, become a patient of an IVF clinic that has outstanding success rates, or perhaps are seeking specialized care for a particular type of infertility treatment (i.e. Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) or Pre-mature Ovarian Failure (POF)).

Forward Fertility works under the direction of your IVF provider

When you come to Forward Fertility for your monitoring visits, your fertility doctor is managing your care - ordering tests, reviewing results, and managing medications. The egg retrieval and/or embryo transfer will happen at the IVF clinic you've chosen.

Forward Fertility will see you in our private office (easy to get to and lots of parking) for the (transvaginal) ultrasound and the blood tests ordered by your IVF clinic. Our appointments are offered in the early morning hours, Monday through Friday and weekends on a case by case basis. Our early scheduling allows you to get on with your day and ensures your results will be delivered to your IVF clinic in a timely fashion for well-coordinated care.

Christie Olsen

Nurse Practitioner

Christie, the owner of Forward Fertility and a women's health nurse practitioner, has been doing pelvic ultrasounds in obstetric and fertility settings since 2002. She strives to provide education, anticipatory guidance, and make patients comfortable, knowing that the fertility process can be incredibly difficult.

Amy Osgood

Medical Assistant

Amy's background is as a medical assistant and phlebotomy. She coordinates registration, scheduling, sending results, and payments. She is responsive, organized, and pays attention to details. You're in good hands with Amy!

Heidi Miller

Registered Nurse

Heidi has been a nurse since 2001 and has over a decade of experience in the field of fertility care. Patients love her. Her caring, warm demeanor, and attention to detail are just part of her charm.

Katie Anderson

Sonographer

Since childhood, Katie has always known she wanted to be in the medical field. Her strong desire to help others shines through both her professional career and her personal journey as a surrogate.
Katie has been in the medical field for nearly 20 years, beginning as a CNA and pharmacy technician before discovering her passion for sonography. She graduated from the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at CVTC and has been a practicing sonographer for 11 years. She is registered and specializes in abdominal, OB-GYN, and breast ultrasound.

Katie’s connection to Forward Fertility runs deep—she is a proud two-time surrogate, having helped grow two incredible families. Her surrogacy experiences were life-changing, and she is thrilled to continue supporting others through her work with Forward Fertility.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two children, and their dogs. Whether it's relaxing on the water or golfing with her husband, she cherishes every moment with her family.

Forward Fertility has provided remote monitoring since 2018

We have been providing remote monitoring since 2018 and have monitored patients at clinics across the country and even internationally, such as, but not limited to: RMA of New Jersey, RMA of San Francisco, Advanced Fertility Centers of Chicago in Gurnee, IL, Fertility Centers of Illinois, Center for Reproductive Medicine in Minneapolis, Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (Lone Tree & Minneapolis locations), San Diego Fertility Center, CNY Fertility, LIFE IVF, LIFE IVF -Greece, Froedtert Fertility in Milwaukee, Reproductive Medicine Institute (RMI) in Chicago, Cooper Institute, Rejuvinating Fertility Center, Institute for Human Reproduction (IHR) in Chicago, Chicago IVF, Heartland Center of Reproduction in Nebraska, IVF Michigan, Southeastern Fertility Center, among others!

What services do you provide?

Despite what Google can't seem to sort out, we are NOT an IVF clinic.

Services we provide:

Transvaginal ultrasounds (THESE ARE STAT/Same Day Results): For measurements of follicles, uterine lining pattern and thickness, fluid in the uterine cavity, fibroids, or monitoring ovarian or paratubal cysts. (Images are always provided).

Blood work (THESE ARE STAT/Same Day Results): Estradiol, quantitative hcg, LH, FSH, TSH, Progesterone and many other basic or pre-conception labs. AMH testing is available as well - the turnaround time for this test is usuallly 1-3 days.

FDA Lab Kit: We can draw your blood and spin the samples so you can mail off the FDA kit your IVF clinic gave you. This is often a service utilized by egg or sperm donors.

Injections: If you need help getting that first Intramuscular (IM) injection in .....we can help you! We understand the fertility process is daunting!

EARLY OBSTETRIC ULTRASOUNDS:

Obstetric ultrasounds - once you're pregnant, you should see your own ob/gyn provider! We can see you if that is not possible, so long as you did your IVF and FET monitoring with us or you're a gestational carrier with Forward Fertility.

Why should you see your ob/gyn for your OB visits? Two major reasons:

1) you can have your insurance billed for those visits...save some $$ for the cute baby clothes.

2) once you're pregnant, it's ideal to be connected to your ob/gyn in case you have a cold, a urinary tract infection, some bleeding, or some other issue they can help you with! We are NOT an ob/gyn or prenatal provider.

Particularly for remote monitoring patients, lean into your own ob/gyn once you're pregnant! Start developing a relationship with them and getting connected with their system.

HOWEVER, we have found that some patients are not able to get into their ob/gyn provider for an early ultrasound, which is suggested with IVF/FET treatment.

So, we will provide limited early ultrasounds.

In order to see you for an early OB ultrasound, we will need:

copy of your blood type
name/phone number of your ob/gyn provider
signed release so we can communicate with your ob/gyn provider, if needed.

Madison Location of Forward Fertility Office - Where is 313 Price Place?

This is what the outside our building looks like. The address is 313 Price Place, but the "313" is really tiny and hard to see. So, knowing what the building looks like can help you find us. You can park anywhere.

Our services are by appointment only.

Address: This is what the outside our building looks like in Wausau. The address is 313 Price Place Suite 108, Madison, WI 53705, however the "313" is difficult to see. The building is called the Lafayette Building.

Entrance: You can enter the front of the building OR the back of the building.

Entering the back of the building: you'll go up a small fight of stairs, turn right, we are office 108 at the end of the hallway.
Entering the front of the building: you will enter the double doors, turn left at the hallway, and we are office 108 at the end of the hallway.

Building Hours/Early AM Appointments: The building is open daily from 8a-9p. If your appointment is before 8am the provider should have unlocked the doors. If you arrive and the doors are locked, please call Christie at 608-217-7511.

Restroom: There is a restroom in the hallway. You may want to check with the provider before you empty your bladder. We might need it full for the best image quality.

Must have an Appointment: Our services are by appointment only.

Parking: There is ample free parking all around the building. There is a parking lot behind the building and street parking in front of the building.

Wausau Location of Forward Fertility Office - 300 3rd Street

Address: This is what the outside our building looks like in Wausau. The address is 300 3^rd Street, Suite 207, Wausau, WI 54403.

Entrance: The main entrance is on the corner between Jimmy Johns and the Chocolate Shop/Coffee shop. However, you can enter the building from many doors on various sides of the building.

Building Hours/Early AM Appointments: The building is open daily from 8a-9p. If your appointment is before 8am, the provider will confirm a plan for you to enter the building.

The coffee shop opens at 6:30am and you can enter the building through their door if your appointment is before 8am.

Second Floor: We are in suite 207 - so you can take the elevator or stairs to get to us.

Restroom: There is a restroom upstairs - check with the provider before you empty your bladder. We might need it full for the best image quality, if we are doing an ultrasound on your abdomen. However, some ultrasounds are done internally, where the ultrasound probe is placed into the vagina, similar to a tampon being placed vaginally. In those cases, you may need an empty bladder. If you're not sure, ask before you empty your bladder and we can talk through this.

Must have an Appointment: Our services are by appointment only.

Parking: There is free 2 hour parking on the street. Or, there is a parking ramp within 1 block of the building.

Possible hiccups! When things don't go the way we want -- then what?

Running late? If you're running late, please call Christie Olsen at 608-217-7511 to let her know. We will try to see you, but it's possible we may not be able to keep your appointment.

Laboratory Machines are "down": Grrr...on occasion - maybe 3-4 times a year, the laboratory seems to have a technical issue and lab results are delayed. It's very unlikely, but it does occasionally happen. In most cases, we can get the results by 4pm Central time.

Unavailable Dates of Service: Our monitoring is done by Heidi Miller, RN and Christie Olsen, NP. Two humans.....who sometimes are out of town or unavailable.

Is your building ADA accessible?

The Wausau, WI office is ADA accessible.

Sadly, the Madison, WI location is not ADA accessible. There are about 6 stairs (from the back entrance) to get to our floor. Please let us know how we might be able to accommodate you in getting to our office and being seen.
